The Fronx features a 998cc petrol engine producing 98.69bhp at 5500rpm and 147.6Nm of torque between 2000-4500rpm. This also uses a 6-speed automatic gearbox and a front-wheel drive system. While the Sonet feels more powerful on highways, the Fronx is very smooth for quick city overtakes. Inside the cabin, the Sonet offers a 385-litre boot, which is more spacious than the 308-litre boot in the Fronx. Both cars have a 5-seater capacity. For comfort, both models include power steering, automatic climate control, cruise control, and keyless entry with an engine start-stop button. The Sonet features a digital cluster, HD touchscreen navigation, and a 7-speaker BOSE premium sound system with AI voice recognition. The Fronx comes with a leather-wrapped steering wheel, LED DRLs, LED headlamps, and an ARKAMYS sound system with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Safety is strong in both, featuring 6 airbags, ABS, ESC, and hill assist. The Sonet adds extra features like a tire pressure monitoring system and lane keep assist. These cars are perfect for daily driving in busy metro cities because they are easy to park and navigate through traffic. The Sonet is a better choice for those who want a premium feel and need more luggage space for weekend trips. The Fronx is ideal for buyers looking for a stylish, modern petrol car at a lower price point. For a complete package with more power and advanced safety, the Kia Sonet is the better pick. Smart Summary for Car Selection
Why Choose Kia Sonet?Why choose
- Offers a diesel, and its torque-converter automatic paired to that engine is one of the best combinations in this class
- Proper SUV proportions rather than the Fronx's raised-hatchback shape
- Around 205mm of ground clearance with well-tuned suspension
- Ventilated seats, a sunroof, cruise control, wireless charging and a Bose system available
- Six airbags, stability control, hill assist and tyre-pressure monitoring on the top safety package
- Better cabin finish than the Fronx
Why not choose
- Rear legroom is only adequate and the width limits it to four people
- Costs considerably more than the Fronx, especially at the top
- Its turbo-petrol pairs with a dual-clutch carrying reliability questions
- Missing a split-folding rear seat, auto wipers, steering reach adjustment and a full-size spare on dearer versions
- Kia's service network is far smaller than Maruti's
- The variant structure is difficult to navigate
Why Choose Maruti Suzuki FRONX?Why choose
- Its 1.0 turbo pairs with a torque-converter automatic, avoiding the dual-clutch worry entirely
- Costs less than the Sonet with lower running costs and stronger resale
- Maruti's service network is the widest in the country
- A CNG option that the Sonet does not offer
- Front seats draw praise for support on long drives
- Six airbags, stability control and hill assist standard even at entry level
Why not choose
- No diesel, so high-mileage buyers lose an option the Sonet provides
- Its 308-litre boot is modest and the loading lip is high
- Wireless Apple CarPlay is unreliable by owner accounts and the audio is ordinary
- Neither crash-testing body has rated it
- Cabin materials feel below the price in places
- Its raised-hatchback shape lacks the Sonet's SUV stance
Our Recommendation For Most BuyersKia Sonet
The Sonet is the choice for buyers who want a diesel or a properly resolved automatic, and those two things are the clearest reasons to spend more than a Fronx costs. Its torque-converter diesel automatic is smooth in a segment full of compromised gearboxes, and it makes long journeys genuinely relaxed.
The turbo-petrol is quicker but comes with the dual-clutch and its associated worries. Take time with the range because equipment is spread unpredictably, and sit three adults across the back before deciding, since width rather than legroom is what limits this car in family use.
Maruti Fronx
The Fronx is the more economical ownership proposition and makes a strong case on running costs, service reach and resale, all of which matter more over five years than a spec sheet suggests. Its turbo is the version worth having, and Maruti pairs it with a torque-converter automatic rather than a dual-clutch, which removes a concern many buyers have about the Kia.
Start at least one rung above the entry car, which goes without a music system entirely. CNG suits heavy monthly running. The missing crash rating and modest boot are the trade-offs to weigh honestly.
