The XUV 7XO represents more than just a minor refresh; the shift in nomenclature to the 'XO' suffix, aligning with the XUV 3XO, signifies a strategic repositioning of the vehicle with a major focus on technology and premiumization.

The SUV will retain its core strengths of performance, build quality, and safety, which earned the XUV700 a 5-star GNCAP rating. The primary competitive advantage of the 7XO is expected to be a dramatic interior overhaul, featuring a segment-first, high-tech triple-screen layout to challenge rivals like the Tata Sierra, Creta and the Upcoming Duster

engine and performance

The Mahindra XUV 7XO will continue to leverage the acclaimed high-output, turbocharged petrol and diesel engines that are currently successful in the XUV700, with power outputs expected to be carried over with minimal change. The powertrain is built for performance and retains both manual and automatic options for customer flexibility.

The 2.0-litre mStallion Turbo-Petrol (TGDi) engine is expected to deliver approximately 200 PS of power and 380 Nm of torque.

The 2.2-litre mHawk Turbo-Diesel engine will continue to be offered in two states of tune, with the higher-spec version producing around 185 PS of power and 450 Nm of torque (with the Automatic Transmission).

Both engines will be paired with a reliable 6-speed Manual Transmission or a 6-speed Torque Converter Automatic Transmission. The drivetrain layout will remain predominantly Front-Wheel Drive (FWD), with the high-tune diesel automatic variant retaining the option for an All-Wheel Drive (AWD) system for enhanced capability. There is also anticipation of a possible mild-hybrid system being integrated to improve fuel efficiency.

interior

The cabin is the centerpiece of the 7XO's upgrade, set to usher in a new level of technology and luxury for the segment. The major highlight is the expected triple-screen dashboard setup, which mirrors the futuristic design seen in Mahindra's electric concept vehicles.

This arrangement will likely consist of three separate 12.3-inch displays: a digital instrument cluster, a central infotainment screen, and a dedicated screen for the front passenger. The driver will interface with a new two-spoke steering wheel featuring the illuminated Mahindra Twin Peaks logo. C

omfort features are being significantly enhanced, with the introduction of ventilated front seats and potentially even ventilation for the second-row captain seats in the six-seater variant. Other high-end additions are expected to include a powerful Harman Kardon audio system with Dolby Atmos technology, an enhanced ambient lighting system, and an auto-dimming interior rearview mirror.

exterior

The exterior design will evolve the current model's muscular stance while integrating modern styling cues borrowed from Mahindra's future electric concepts, such as the XEV 9S. The overall dimensions and rugged silhouette are largely expected to remain, maintaining its imposing road presence. The front fascia will feature a redesigned grille with a more structured, aggressive slat pattern.

The lighting elements are set for a complete rework, likely adopting new dual-barrel LED projector headlamps and revised L-shaped or C-shaped LED Daytime Running Lights (DRLs).

At the rear, the design will be updated with reworked LED taillights, potentially featuring a popular full-width, connected LED light bar for a more contemporary and premium appearance. Changes to the front and rear bumpers, along with a new array of diamond-cut alloy wheel designs, will complete the visual refresh.
