Mahindra showcased the Vision S concept in August 2025 as part of its Freedom_NU global vision, previewing a sub-4m compact SUV on the versatile NU_IQ modular platform. Production version testing is underway, with launch expected in 2027, though some reports suggest late 2026 is possible. 

This model aims to fill the sub-4m rugged SUV space, potentially replacing or complementing the Bolero Neo with a boxy, upright design for strong road presence. Spy mules reveal premium additions like a panoramic sunroof, diesel automatic transmission, and an upscale cabin, targeting families wanting toughness, space, and modern tech at competitive pricing estimated between Rs 10 to 17 lakh. 

The NU_IQ platform supports multiple powertrains including ICE, hybrid, and EV, making it future-ready. It is positioned as a mini Defender with Mahindra’s signature capability, focusing on durability for Indian roads while adding comforts missing in current entry SUVs.
