Which EVs Are Available With BaaS Scheme?

Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) is fast becoming a popular way to buy an EV in India, letting buyers pay a lower upfront price and a per-km battery rental instead of owning the battery outright.

Eleven electric cars currently offer this scheme, spanning affordable city cars like the Tata Tiago EV all the way to premium SUVs and MPVs from Kia and MG.

Here's a complete breakdown of every EV with BaaS pricing in India.

Kia Syros EV

Kia’s new Syros EV brings serious range to India’s compact SUV segment, with its larger 51.4 kWh battery delivering a segment-first 526 km ARAI range. That battery feeds a 171 PS motor capable of hitting 0-100 km/h in 8.1 seconds, while a 100 kW fast charger can top it back up from 10% to 80% in a claimed 39 minutes.

Inside, the cabin features a massive 30-inch continuous display, a panoramic sunroof, Harman Kardon audio, and ventilated seats for both front and rear passengers. Meanwhile, six airbags and Level 2 ADAS handle safety.

With BaaS, the Syros's prices start at Rs 7.99 lakh with a battery rental cost of Rs 3.3 per kilometre.

A Lifetime High Voltage Battery Warranty and Assured Buyback programme are also offered.

Hyundai Creta Electric

The Hyundai Creta Electric now gets a BaaS option, letting buyers purchase the electric SUV at Rs 10.99 lakh (ex-showroom) with battery rental at Rs 3.9 per km.

It is offered with 42 kWh and 51.4 kWh battery packs, with the larger unit delivering up to 510 km of range. The smaller pack pairs with a 133 bhp motor, while the larger version gets a 169 bhp motor capable of a 0-100 km/h sprint in 7.9 seconds.

Hyundai has also added integrated side foot steps and a 7.4 kW wall box charger with HC variants. DC fast charging takes the battery from 10-80% in 39 minutes.

The Creta Electric also gets a Digital Key, Bose audio system, automatic climate control, ventilated front seats, Level 2 ADAS, and 6 airbags as standard.

Tata Tiago EV

The Tata Tiago EV facelift receives refreshed styling, an updated cabin, and new technology features while continuing with 19.2 kWh and 24 kWh battery pack options.

Tata offers BaaS on the base Smart 19.2 kWh variant, starting at ₹4.69 lakh as opposed to the full price of ₹6.99 lakh.

Under this model, users pay about ₹2.60 per km, assuming a daily usage of 44 km.

Tata Punch EV

The 2026 facelifted Tata Punch EV comes with subtle styling revisions and a noticeably upgraded cabin. Higher trims now get dual 10.25-inch screens, a 360-degree camera, ventilated seats, and iRA connected features, making it feel far more premium than before.

It is offered with 30 kWh and 40 kWh battery packs. The smaller pack delivers a real-world range of around 275 km, while the 40 kWh version claims up to 468 km ARAI with about 355 km in practical use.

Drive modes include City, Eco, and Sport with multi-level regeneration. Safety remains strong with 5-star ratings, up to six airbags, and a lifetime HV battery warranty for first owners.

BaaS mainly applies to base trims like Smart 30 kWh, along with assured buyback support.

MG Comet EV

The MG Comet EV stands out as one of India's most affordable city-focused electric cars. It features a distinctive design and a tech-heavy cabin with dual 10.25-inch screens, wireless charging, automatic climate control, and iSMART connected features.

It runs on a 17.3 kWh battery paired with a 41 hp motor, delivering around 230 km range and a top speed close to 100 km/h, ideal for daily city commutes. Regenerative braking, cruise control, and a 360-degree camera enhance usability.

BaaS is available across variants including Executive, Excite, and Exclusive, even the Blackstorm edition, significantly lowering upfront cost.

Combined with low running expenses and assured buyback, it makes strong sense for budget urban buyers.

MG ZS EV

The MG ZS EV is a mid-size electric SUV designed for buyers seeking premium features and real highway capability. It comes with a 50.3 kWh battery delivering up to 461 km ARAI range, paired with a 177 PS motor producing 280 Nm torque.

Eco, Normal, and Sport drive modes are supported by strong regenerative braking and quick DC charging.

The cabin feels upscale with a panoramic sunroof, ventilated seats, Level 2 ADAS, a 360-degree camera, and iSMART connectivity. Safety includes six airbags and electronic stability control.

BaaS reduces the entry barrier across variants, making it more accessible than full battery ownership. An 8-year battery warranty and assured buyback enhance long-term confidence for family buyers.

MG Windsor EV

The MG Windsor EV is positioned as an intelligent crossover that blends SUV practicality with coupe-inspired styling. Inside, it feels futuristic with a massive 15.6-inch touchscreen, reclining Aero Lounge rear seats, an ADAS suite, a 360-degree camera, and a premium sound system.

It is offered with 38 kWh and 52.9 kWh battery options, delivering around 332 km and 449 km respectively. The electric motor produces 134 hp and 200 Nm, supported by multiple regeneration levels and fast-charging capability.

BaaS is available from base trims such as Excite, Exclusive, and Essence, helping reduce EMI burden. Also, a lifetime battery warranty for first owners and assured buyback strengthen its appeal for comfort-oriented urban and highway users.

As of July 2026, MG has updated Windsor EV prices across the range. Standard prices have gone up by up to ₹60,000, with the base Excite now costing ₹14.69 lakh (ex-showroom). BaaS prices have dropped by ₹13,100 for the Exclusive and Essence variants, while the Exclusive Pro and Essence Pro are pricier by ₹51,900 and ₹39,900 respectively.

Maruti Suzuki e Vitara

The Maruti Suzuki e Vitara marks the brand’s entry into the electric SUV space with a strong focus on reliability and mass adoption. It features bold styling, spacious interiors, ventilated seats, a large touchscreen, panoramic sunroof and ADAS functions.

The 49 kWh pack in the Delta trim delivers up to 440 km ARAI with 144 hp and 189 Nm, while the 61 kWh version in Zeta and Alpha trims offers up to 543 km ARAI with 174 hp.

Fast charging and multi-level regen make it practical for daily and highway use.

BaaS is available across Delta, Zeta and Alpha variants with introductory offers until March 2026, along with an 8-year battery warranty and buyback assurance.

Kia Carens Clavis EV

The Kia Carens Clavis EV is a premium 6- or 7-seater MPV that offers bold styling, spacious interiors, and strong family-focused practicality. It comes with two battery options: 42 kWh and 51.4 kWh, delivering claimed ARAI ranges of up to 404 km and 490 km, and produces up to 171 hp and 255 Nm torque with 100 kW DC fast-charging support.

Feature-wise, the cabin gets dual 12.25-inch panoramic displays, ventilated seats, a panoramic sunroof, and Bose audio. Safety is comprehensive too, with 6 airbags and the Level 2 ADAS suite.

BaaS is available on both packs at ₹3.3 per km battery rent. The Standard variant's chassis price drops to ₹12.84 lakh (from ₹17.99 lakh), while the Extended comes at ₹15.94 lakh (from ₹21.99 lakh).

Lastly, an 8-year battery warranty and assured buyback options are offered.

Citroen EC3x

Citroën has launched the updated eC3X with bookings now open, introducing BaaS to reduce the upfront purchase cost.

Under this scheme, the eC3X is priced from ₹6.89 lakh (ex-showroom), while customers pay a battery subscription charge of ₹2.26 per km.

The regular outright purchase price starts at ₹10.25 lakh. Mechanical specifications remain unchanged, with the EV continuing to use a 29.2 kWh battery pack delivering a claimed range of 320 km on a single charge.

Alongside the new ownership option, Citroën has also refreshed the design and feature list of the eC3X.
