For the last few months, India has been getting a boatload of new EVs. From the Tata Curvv.ev to the Powersliding Mahindra BE6, the EV market has got quite a lot of attention in 2024. Now, as we say goodbye to 2024, here are the top 5 most affordable EVs set to launch in 2025.
- Hyundai Creta EV

In 2025, the Hyundai Creta EV is going to be the first electric car to be launched in India in the affordable segment. If you’re planning to book something like the Tata Curvv.ev, or the Mahindra BE6, or even the MG ZS EV, we’d suggest you wait a little longer, as Hyundai will launch the Creta EV on 17th January 2025.
The Creta EV will come with a 45 kWh battery pack and it’ll be powered by a 138 horsepower motor according to Autocar India.
Unlike other EV SUVs, the Creta is very likely to get a front-wheel-drive setup, and we are not expecting an AWD setup in the Creta EV anytime soon.

The Maruti Suzuki e-Vitara will go on sale in India by March 2025, and it will make its India debut at the Bharat Mobility Expo 2025.
Just a month earlier, Suzuki showcased the e-Vitara in Milan, Italy, and Maruti plans to export it to international markets from India too.
The e-Vitara will come in FWD, AWD, or 4WD options, and it will compete with the likes of the Hyundai Creta EV, the upcoming Mahindra BE.05, and the Tata Harrier EV.
Tata Altroz EV

Tata Motors plans to launch 4 new EV models in 2025 and Tata’s MD has confirmed the Altroz EV launch is scheduled for 2025.
While the Tata Altroz EV was initially expected to be launched alongside the Tata Nexon EV back in 2023, things didn’t go as planned. According to reports, Tata has been facing challenges in developing the Altroz EV since 2021.
However, this time it is confirmed that the Altroz EV will hit the market in 2025 and it will feature the same architecture as the Punch.ev. That means approximately 315 - 421 kilometres of range, or maybe a bit more thanks to the better aerodynamic nature of a hatchback over SUVs.

- Tata Sierra EV
The Tata Sierra EV is probably the most anticipated Tata car in the last few years. And, we have the good news for all of you as the Tata Sierra EV is slated to be launched in the second half of 2025. As per reports, the Sierra EV will come in AWD or 4WD setups as well.
Moreover, an ICE version of the Tata Sierra will also be launched followed by the EV.
- Tata Harrier EV

Another one in Tata’s EV launch queue is the Harrier EV. The Tata Harrier EV is slated to be launched in 2025 as per reports and it was recently spotted on the Pune-Bengaluru expressway!
Although Tata has already showcased the Harrier EV in Auto Expo 2023, last time it was spotted heavily camouflaged. So expect some new bits in terms of design, to bring a refreshed approach to the segment.
