Tata has been on a hot streak lately with the launch of their Sierra, which to be honest feels much more than a product launch, I mean who would have thought you would get so much stuff with a rather reasonable price tag of around 11.5 lakhs.

The Sierra has yet to reach the customers, but we are already excited about its all-electric version which will launch next year. Here is what I think it will likely have in terms of features that just might make it worth waiting for

1. The Lounge Seating

Tata was pretty proud of how they have managed so much space inside Sierra thanks to clever packaging and design. The rear passenger space is amongst the best in class as far as I know, definitely better than its archnemesis Creta

Expect the Sierra EV will undoubtedly be its rear-seat experience which will take chill vibes to the max as EV don't have gearboxes (atleast basic ones) this allows for a perfectly flat floor, enabling Tata to install "Lounge" seats that slide back and recline significantly further than standard SUV seats.

Expect an ottoman-style leg rest and "Boss Mode" controls (allowing the rear passenger to move the front seat forward). We wouldn't be surprised if Tata quickly comes up with BYOD stuff like the ones Mahindra has so that people can hook up their own tablets and whatnot.

2. Triple-Screen "Digital Cockpit" Dashboard

While dual screens are common, the Sierra EV is expected to adopt the premium triple-screen layout seen in the top-spec ICE Sierra and prototypes. This includes a 10.25-inch digital driver display, a massive 12.3-inch central infotainment screen, and crucially a dedicated third screen for the front passenger.

This "Co-Pilot" screen allows the passenger to control navigation, music, or stream media independently without distracting the driver.

Given the EV's silent operation, this turns the front row into a cinematic experience, further differentiating it from the more utilitarian Harrier and the driver-focused Curvv.

3. Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) & V2V Power Capabilities

Positioned as an "outdoor lifestyle" vehicle, the Sierra EV will feature Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) technology, a staple of the Acti.ev platform. This allows the car to discharge power (up to ~3.3kW) from its charging port to run external appliances

It effectively becomes a silent generator for your glamping trips. Furthermore, Vehicle-to-Vehicle (V2V) charging is highly likely, allowing the Sierra to share charge with another stranded EV. MOst people won;t be using this feature at all expect those who travel to Manali and Spiti valley for some genuine camping experience, still it's nice to have

4. "Digital Face" with Smart Lighting Animations

Visually, the Sierra EV will separate itself from its petrol/diesel sibling with a distinct "Digital Face." Since an electric motor requires significantly less cooling, the textured open grille of the ICE version will be replaced by a clean, body-colored panel or a futuristic glass-like surface.

This "nose" will likely house the charging port and feature active charging indicators. Expect full-width LED light bars front and rear with "Welcome" and "Goodbye" animated lighting sequences that trigger when you lock or unlock the car.

5. Dual-Motor AWD for True "Go-Anywhere" Capability

This along with its price will be the biggest make or break factors for Sierra EV. Currently Tata Sierra is positioned between Curvv and Harrier

Expect the EV to carry the same positioning. Going by that logic we have three battery packs Tata Sierra could launch with 45 kWH, 55 kWH, 65 kWh and 75 kWh. Since 45 is too puny for the Sierra and 75 kWh one seems exclusive to Harrier EV the remaining 55kwh and the 65kwh pack will be the likely options.

Expect the real world range to be better 370-450 km depending on which tire size you go for and which mode you are in.

Charging time could take anywhere from 8 hrs from a 11kw AC setup to about 20 minutes from the DC charger. The top of the line Sierra could have the AWD setup which might launch even later down the line.

As far the power numbers for the Sierra EV are concerned we can bet something in 170-250 hp range.

6. Dedicated "Frunk" (Front Trunk) Storage

One of the clear advantages of the dedicated Acti.ev (Gen 2) platform is widely improved packaging. By moving the HVAC components and compacting the front motor, Tata has successfully carved out a Frunk in its recent EVs (like the Punch and Curvv).

The Sierra EV will almost certainly feature this. While not massive, a 40-50 liter frunk is perfect for storing charging cables, wet muddy gear after a hike, or grocery bags. This keeps the main boot clean and organized, a small but significant practical benefit that ICE-converted EVs (like the early Nexon EV) could never offer.

7. Level 2+ ADAS with Evasive Assist

Safety will be headlined by a comprehensive Level 2+ Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) suite. Expect roughly 20 distinct features, including Adaptive Cruise Control with Stop & Go (essential for city traffic), Lane Keep Assist, and Autonomous Emergency Braking.

Because the Sierra EV uses an electric powertrain, the response time for features like emergency braking and adaptive cruise control is smoother and faster compared to ICE vehicles. The "Plus" designation likely hints at advanced features like Blind Spot View Monitor (projecting camera feed onto the dash) and Rear Cross Traffic Alert, crucial for a boxy SUV with large blind spots.
