Volkswagen Taigun Facelift Spied Testing

The Taigun facelift has been spotted testing yet again, this time in Pune.

The test mule featured camouflaged wrapping on its front and rear ends. Volkswagen has been preparing a mid-cycle update for this SUV for some time now.

Exterior changes focus on subtle yet noticeable styling tweaks.

The front end will sport a revised grille with sharper detailing, updated LED headlamps featuring a fresh light signature, and a reworked bumper for a more modern appearance.

Expect revised LED tail lamps at the rear, likely to continue with a connected layout, along with a tweaked bumper.

The side profile retains the familiar shape, though new alloy wheel designs may appear on higher variants.

The cabin is set for meaningful upgrades, but without a complete overhaul. New upholstery, fresh colour themes, and improved trim quality are likely.

Key additions could include ventilated front seats, an electrically adjustable driver seat, a massage function for the rear seats, a panoramic sunroof, and enhanced connected car features.

The existing 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, plus the digital instrument cluster, should continue, possibly with software improvements like AI assistants.

Powertrains will remain largely unchanged.

The 1.0-litre turbo-petrol engine (114 bhp, 178 Nm) and 1.5-litre TSI (148 bhp, 250 Nm) will carry over.

The 1.0-litre variant will switch to a new eight-speed torque converter automatic gearbox that debuted with the Kushaq, while the 1.5-litre will continue with the seven-speed DSG.

Safety is expected to remain strong with 6 airbags, ESP, ABS with EBD, ISOFIX child seat mounts, TPMS, and Hill Hold Control as standard.

Expected to launch by mid-2026, this update follows the recent Skoda Kushaq facelift, aiming to counter rivals like the Hyundai Creta and Kia Seltos.
