A new report by Autocar India indicates that JSW Motors is preparing to enter the Indian market with its first SUV, based on the Jetour T2, and it is expected to be priced in the Rs 38 lakh to Rs 40 lakh range.
This positions it in a relatively untapped premium segment, sitting against the Toyota Fortuner and possibly the Majestor, making it a strong flagship contender for the brand.
Expect the Jetour to launch around Diwali season when bulk of car shopping happens and the Safari EV is also expected to debut.

The biggest highlight is its advanced plug-in hybrid powertrain. The SUV will feature a 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine paired with a 26.7kWh battery pack and dual electric motors, enabling an all-wheel-drive setup. Combined, this system produces an impressive 381hp and 610Nm, delivered through a 3-speed dedicated hybrid transmission (DHT).
This setup is designed to offer stronger acceleration and better performance compared to conventional hybrid systems.
In terms of efficiency, the SUV is claimed to deliver over 1,000km of combined driving range, with an electric-only range of up to 139km (NEDC). This makes it suitable for both daily commutes and long-distance travel.
