It's been seven years since the Defender debuted and pretty much turned things around for an almost-bankrupt JLR. After suffering a massive cyber attack recently, it looks like the Tata-owned premium SUV giant is also set to resume work on the long overdue Defender facelift, spotted by Carscoops.
As we can see, the body is largely camo-free, and the only areas covered are the front and rear bumpers, a new roof-mounted spoiler (good luck improving aero on this brick) and some heavy black cloth in the interior.

So don't expect too many drastic changes for the new facelifted Defender, which will likely debut in the next few months. Looks like JLR is aligning to give the upcoming Defender some minor exterior bumper tweaks, a new grille, and a slightly more aero-friendly body kit. A new interior colour or design is also on the cards.
Engine-wise, we can expect the current engine options for the Defender, which are a 2.0-litre inline-four petrol, an inline-six petrol, a couple of supercharged and turbocharged V8s, and a trio of diesel engines to continue. Expect the supercharged V8 to likely get axed as Euro 7 drops in by November, replaced by a detuned version of the Octa engine, most likely.

It’s expected to debut in India within 2 months after its global launch, likely by the end of this year, or even sooner
Price wise, the current base model starts at ₹1.03 crore, while the new Defender could be priced around ₹1.10 crore. Land Rover Defender is not even built in the UK. It is manufactured in Slovakia, so it does not qualify for the reduced import duty benefits meant for UK built cars under the deal.
