Upcoming CNG Cars in 2026

Quite a few car manufacturers are preparing new models and facelifts for 2026 with factory-fitted or dealer-fitted CNG options. Below is a look at these upcoming models.

Skoda Kylaq CNG

Skoda’s top management has confirmed that a CNG option for the Kylaq is being actively evaluated. 

If and when launched, it will likely be paired to the 1.0-litre TSI turbo-petrol engine, which makes 113 bhp and 178 Nm in petrol mode. 

Performance could see a noticeable dip in CNG mode, but with much better fuel efficiency.

The interior should remain unchanged with premium materials, a touchscreen with smartphone connectivity, and comfortable seating for five. 

Safety will remain a highlight with its 5-star Bharat NCAP rating, six airbags, ESP, ABS with EBD, ISOFIX child seat mounts, and rear parking sensors.

Mahindra XUV 3XO CNG

Mahindra’s only compact SUV, the XUV3X0, might get a CNG variant as per Autocar India. The news comes after we have seen a higher rate of CNG adoption compared to diesel cars. As of now, no specs are confirmed, but the CNG option will likely start from one above base model variants and is expected to carry almost a ₹1 lakh price premium. 

Mahindra’s current engines are not exactly famous for their mileage, returning at best around 12 km/l in mixed use. The CNG variant could return 16–18 km/l in daily driving when paired with a 6-speed manual. Expect this variant to launch in late 2026.

The interior could carry over unchanged, with a modern dashboard design large touchscreen, a panoramic sunroof option, and wireless connectivity. 

Safety will continue to be strong with six airbags, ESP, a 360-degree camera, advanced driver assistance features in higher trims, and a 5-star Bharat NCAP rating.
