Among numerous car launches, unveils, updates and facelifts seen so far this year, the automotive scene in India has been somewhat exciting. Recent launches such as the Volkswagen Taigun Facelift, VinFast VF MPV 7, and Kia Syros are just a showcase of how active the market has been.
With April out of the way, the list of upcoming cars is far from short, even if we only consider the month of May.
Here's a list of all confirmed and expected upcoming cars this month:
Confirmed Launches
MG Majestor
The launch of the much awaited MG Majestor, has been iffy at best, however it is expected for deliveries in the first week of May, with pre-bookings already underway for the customers.
We actually got a firsthand opportunity to take the car on a highway run, where we faced multiple looks from other car owners, harboring the same excitement as us.
The new MG Majestor is positioned as a D+ Segment full-size 7-seater SUV. It's exterior features Dragon Eye design DRLs with tri beam lights and a matrix grille at the front, and twin exhaust, connected tail lamps, a large GOLSTER type badging at the rear. It rides on large 19-inch alloy wheels.
It is powered by a 2.0-litre twin turbo diesel engine, that delivers 212 hp and 478.5, paired with an 8-speed automatic with 2WD or 4WD options, including triple Drive and Steering modes. Iy also gets triple differential locks.
The cabin is highly spacious, featuring dual 12.3-inch displays, along with MG’s i-SMART connected car system, dual wireless phone chargers, 64-colour ambient lighting, three-zone climate control, 12-speaker JBL sound system, and 64-colour ambient lighting.
Safety-wise, it gets six airbags, front and rear parking sensors, a 360-degree camera, and a Level-2 ADAS suite.
Honda ZR-V Hybrid

Honda has confirmed the launch of the all-new ZR-V SUV on May 22, which will be a fully imported (CBU) model. It is expected to be priced between ₹40 lakh and ₹50 lakh (ex-showroom) and will rival the Volkswagen Tiguan and Skoda Kodiaq Lounge.
Powertrain wise, the car is expected to house a 2.0-litre four-cylinder petrol hybrid powertrain, paired with an e-CVT, and will likely deliver 180 hp.
Inside, it is expected to get a 9-inch touchscreen infotainment (with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto), 10.2-inch digital driver’s display, wireless charging, premium audio, and an enhanced Google integration in updated models.
Dual-zone climate control, a powered driver's seat and tailgate are also likely additions for convenience.
Meanwhile, higher variants is expected to feature wireless charging, and a Honda Sensing ADAS suite.

Honda City Facelift

The facelifted Honda City sedan is also confirmed to launch alongside the ZR-V on May 22. It will be the second facelift of the current fifth-generation model, which is a much needed refresh, and is expected to bring minor changes in exterior looks, with more noticable changes inside.
The powertrain however, is expected to carry over from the outgoing model, which consists of a 1.5-litre i-VTEC petrol engine that delivers 121 hp, paired with a 6-speed manual or CVT, alongside the 126 hp 1.5-litre hybrid variant with its own CVT.
Looks wise, the exterior is expected to feature updated headlights, tail-lamps and front grille, refreshed bumpers, and possibly new wheel designs.
On the inside, it is expected to feature a larger infotainment touchscreen with updated software, a fully digital driver's display, and an optional 360-degree camera.
Confort wise, powered driver's seat and ventilated front seats are also expected upgrades.
Expected Launches
Skoda Kodiaq RS

The Skoda Kodiaq RS is expected to launch in the third week of May. Looks-wise it features black‑painted body accents, LED Matrix beam headlights, adiator grille surround, wing mirror covers, upper side‑window trim, roof rails, and high-gloss black D‑pillars.
It is powered by a 2.0-litre TSI turbo-petrol engine that makes 265 hp and 400 Nm, paired with a 7-speed DSG automatic and all-wheel drive.
The exclusive RS treatment gives it a sporty look from the outside to the inside, which features an all-black cabin with RS-badged seats, and high‑contrast red stitching,
On the safety end, it gets the new Turn Assist and Crossroad Assist apart from adaptive cruise control, lane assist and a 360-degree camera.

Toyota Urban Cruiser Ebella

The Toyota Urban Cruiser Ebella's launch is expected to be in May as well, and is expected to get a 49 kWh battery, delivering 142 hp, 189 Nm of torque and a claimed range of 440 km.
Inside the Ebella, expect a 10.1-inch integrated audio display, premium JBL sound system, panoramic roof, squircle steering wheel and a smooth dial shifter.
Other expected features include ventilated front seats, a 10.25-inch infotainment system, sliding rear seats, Level 2 ADAS, a 360-degree camera, connected car tech and seven airbags.
