Maruti Suzuki eVitara

vitara concept 2026

Maruti Suzuki has officially launched the eVitara in India, marking its debut in the mid-size electric SUV space.  They have also promised 250 crore investment in the EV charging business and BaaS for reduced upfront cost

The eVitara is offered with two battery choices, a 41- kWh pack and a larger 61 kWh pack. The 49-kWh version delivers about 142 to 144 bhp along with close to 192 Nm of torque, while the 61 kWh variant produces roughly 172 to 174 bhp with the same torque output. The bigger battery offers a claimed driving range of up to 543 km on a single charge.

Key performance figures include a 0 to 100 kmph time of 9.6 seconds for the 49-kWh model and 8.7 seconds for the 61-kWh version, along with a top speed of 150 kmph. Maruti Suzuki is also offering a long-term battery warranty option that can stretch up to eight years.

The cabin is tech focused with a dual screen layout, ventilated seats, a 360 degree camera and a suite of Level 2 ADAS features, while seven airbags and advanced safety technology complete the package.

Mahindra Scorpio N Pickup

Mahindra is set to introduce the rugged Mahindra Global Pik Up, which is based on the popular Scorpio N SUV. This lifestyle pickup truck, also potentially named Scorpio X, is expected to launch in 2026 and will compete directly with the Toyota Hilux and Isuzu V-Cross

Built on a tough ladder-frame chassis, it is expected to be powered by the reliable 2.2-litre mHawk turbocharged diesel engine with 4x4 options, and is projected to be priced in the ₹16 lakh to ₹25 lakh range. It will be offered in both single-cab and double-cab versions.

Renault Duster

duster concept 2026

The much-awaited Renault Duster is expected to make its comeback in India with its new-generation model. Confirmed to arrive in January 2026, the estimated ex-showroom price ranges from ₹10.00 Lakh to ₹20.00 Lakh. Built on the CMF-B platform, the SUV will feature the modern, rugged styling of the global Dacia Duster, adapted with Renault badging for the Indian market.

Powertrain options are anticipated to include various engine choices, with a 1.3-litre turbocharged petrol engine being a strong possibility for the India-spec model.

Just like the previous Duster, this one may offer an AWD drivetrain as well. In terms of technology, the new Duster could be well-equipped to compete in the compact SUV segment, with features like ADAS, a panoramic sunroof, a high-quality audio system, and a 360-degree camera setup likely to be available.

Renault Bigster

Following the launch of the new Duster, the 7-seater Renault Bigster is tentatively scheduled to arrive in India by July 2026, with an expected price bracket of ₹13.00 Lakh to ₹22.00 Lakh (Ex-Showroom). This model is essentially a larger derivative of the New Duster, designed to accommodate a third row of seats with a longer body for a true 7-seater configuration.

It is expected to share the Duster’s CMF-B platform and powertrain options. Furthermore, the Bigster could offer additional premium features over the Duster.

Nissan Tekton

The Nissan Tekton is confirmed as the brand's all-new compact SUV, intended to challenge segment leaders like the Hyundai Creta, with a tentative launch window between May and July 2026. Its expected ex-showroom price is estimated to start from ₹10.00 Lakh and go up to ₹20.00 Lakh.

Sharing its platform and powertrain options with the upcoming Renault Duster, the Tekton could distinguish itself with a sharper design, featuring elements inspired by the Nissan Patrol, such as connected LED DRLs and C-shaped lighting signatures.

The feature list could be extensive, offering a large touchscreen, a panoramic sunroof, a 360-degree camera, a digital driver’s display, and Level 2 ADAS.

New Generation Audi Q5

The new generation of the Audi Q5 luxury SUV is expected to launch in India around June 2026, with estimated ex-showroom prices starting from ₹70.00 Lakh up to ₹75.00 Lakh. Globally unveiled in 2024, the luxury SUV is anticipated to arrive in India powered by the 2.0-litre TFSI turbo-petrol engine, which incorporates a 48V mild-hybrid system for enhanced efficiency and smooth operation, with a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission and standard Quattro All-Wheel Drive.

A notable feature of the mild-hybrid tech is the electric AC compressor, which continues to provide cooling even when the engine is temporarily shut off. The interior is set for a major technological update, adopting a similar design language seen in Audi's latest electric vehicles.

Honda 0 EV

Honda is preparing to launch its first electric SUV under the new 0 Series banner in India by 2027, following its global debut in 2026. Revealed as part of Honda’s fresh EV strategy at CES 2025, the SUV showcases the brand’s “thin, light, and wise” design philosophy focused on efficiency and intelligent use of space. It will be built on a dedicated born-electric platform, offering rear-wheel-drive and all-wheel-drive variants.

Battery capacity is expected between 80 kWh and 100 kWh, delivering an estimated 480 to 500 km range on a single charge. The SUV will feature Honda’s new ASIMO operating system, offering over-the-air software updates and advanced driver-assist functions with AI-based driving aids.

The design emphasizes aerodynamics with a clean front fascia, squared-off rear section for improved cabin room, U-shaped LED tail lights, and a panoramic glasshouse. Inside, a flat floor layout, minimalist dashboard, dual digital displays, and sustainable materials underline its futuristic appeal.

Initially, the SUV will arrive in India as a completely built unit before local production begins. Once launched, it will rival the Hyundai Ioniq 5, Kia EV6, and BYD Seal U, signaling Honda’s serious push into India’s premium electric SUV market.

Mahindra 700 Facelift (7X0)

The upcoming Mahindra XUV 700 refresh will likely be called 7XO as patent suggests. It is expected to be a major update to the current XUV700, bringing a refreshed look and added features. Early previews suggest a sharper front fascia, new lighting elements, and a more polished cabin with updated tech. Mahindra is likely to retain the existing petrol and diesel engines while improving refinement and comfort.

The 7XO is positioned to keep the SUV competitive with a more modern design, better interior materials, and enhanced convenience features as it moves closer to launch.

Honda CBU Imports

upcoming honda cars

Honda is gearing up for a serious product wave in India, with multiple hybrids and EVs planned across different segments. The Prelude will arrive as a CBU hybrid coupe with a 2.0 litre petrol electric setup making around 200 hp and an expected price close to 80 lakh. The ZR V hybrid is also planned as a CBU with a 2.0 litre hybrid system and an estimated price between 50 and 60 lakh.

The Elevate Hybrid will be built locally from late 2026 using the 1.5 litre e HEV system and is expected to slot into the 14 to 19 lakh range. A three row hybrid SUV based on Honda’s PF2 platform is scheduled for 2027 with pricing likely around 28 to 32 lakh. Honda will also introduce the 0 Alpha electric SUV in 2027 with a battery between 60 and 75 kWh, a real world range target near 500 km, and an expected price band of 25 to 30 lakh

Maruti Suzuki Breeza Facelift

Maruti Suzuki appears to be working on a mid-life update for the Brezza compact SUV. The current model arrived in 2022 and has not received any major updates since, so a 2026 refresh fits the brand’s usual three to four year cycle.

A new spy video from Gurgaon, shared by Car India News, shows a fully camouflaged Brezza test mule with a clear CNG sticker on the rear windscreen. This has sparked interest because it may finally address one of the biggest drawbacks of the current Brezza CNG. The existing model uses a traditional CNG cylinder that occupies most of the boot, leaving very little usable space.

The test mule suggests Maruti could be testing a revised CNG setup that improves practicality for everyday users.

We are not entirely sure about its January 2026 launch window, but reputable sources including Autocar have indicated the same. Judging by the spy shots, where only the front and rear are camouflaged, the updates do not appear to be drastic.

The 2026 Kushaq is expected to receive mild front and rear design tweaks, new colour options, revised trims and a more advanced infotainment system. Image credit- My Mechanic
