Toyota has launched the most powerful version of its flagship SUV, the Land Cruiser 300, featuring a new twin-turbo petrol-hybrid setup. First introduced in the Middle East and Australia, this hybrid variant will gradually enter more global markets, but an India launch hasn’t been confirmed yet.
457 hp Hybrid Engine
The main highlight of the new Land Cruiser 300 Hybrid is its 3.5-litre twin-turbocharged V6 petrol engine paired with an electric motor in a parallel hybrid configuration. This setup delivers a massive 457 hp and 790 Nm of peak torque, making it the most powerful Land Cruiser ever built. The hybrid system is the same as the one found in the Lexus LX700h, and power is sent to all four wheels via a 10-speed automatic gearbox.
Minor Design Changes
While the overall design of the Land Cruiser 300 remains familiar, the hybrid version gets a few cosmetic changes. There’s a new front bumper with larger air intakes and slightly revised detailing around the fog lamps. It also features unique HEV badging, identifying it as a strong hybrid model. However, the GR Sport variant equipped with the same hybrid powertrain does not receive these exterior updates.
Feature Additions Inside the Cabin

On the inside, Toyota has kept most of the layout intact but introduced some key enhancements. The instrument cluster now features updated hybrid-specific graphics and a larger 12.3-inch display. The SUV also gains a 220V power outlet in the cargo area, a practical addition missing from previous versions. The rest of the cabin, including seating and trim, remains largely unchanged.
India Version Continues with Diesel Power
In India, the Toyota Land Cruiser 300 continues to be offered with a 3.3-litre twin-turbo V6 diesel engine producing 309 hp and 700 Nm. The model is sold in standard ZX and GR Sport trims, with prices ranging from 2.31 crore to 2.41 crore (ex-showroom). While the diesel-powered LC300 remains on sale, there is no official word on the hybrid variant's arrival in India.
