October 2025 lit up India's sub-4 metre SUV segment throughout the festive season, as buyers flocked to these crossovers for their blend of style, safety, and savings. The segment grew 15% month-on-month, highlighting its appeal among Indians.
The Tata Nexon retained its throne, while rivals like Kia Sonet and Mahindra XUV 3XO posted sharp gains. With a wide variety of options, this segment saw major competition. Below is a rundown of all the models reflecting their sales in October 2025.
Kia Syros - 785 units

The Kia Syros entered as a fresh subcompact SUV with an edgy design and multiple powertrain options. Its tech-packed cabin and bold stance target young buyers seeking premium vibes on a budget. While overall sales figures were underwhelming, not having crossed even triple-digit figures since May, the Syros has witnessed a 68.81% surge from September's 465 units.
Renault Kiger - 948 units

The Renault Kiger shines with its affordable pricing and rugged looks, ideal for first-time SUV owners. Having received a facelift recently, its funky styling, high ground clearance and multiple engine and gearbox options make for a good package.
However, it seems like people expected a lot more from the facelift, as sales figures dipped 18.69%, dropping below 1,000 units from the 1,166 units last month.
Nissan Magnite - 2,615 units

The Nissan Magnite tempts with feature-rich options like 360-degree cameras and a lively turbo petrol engine. Compact yet spacious, it suits solo commuters and families alike. Sales volumes climbed 58.29% over September's 1,652 units, likely fuelled by festive discounts.
Skoda Kylaq - 5,078 units

The Kylaq has become a top-seller for Skoda India, offering solid build and a peppy turbo petrol engine in an affordable sub-4m package. It rose 15.46% from 4,398 units in September, and has been steadily gaining traction since its launch.
Hyundai Venue - 11,738 units

The Hyundai Venue, with its crossover charm, long feature list, and a variety of powertrains, has long been a popular option among buyers. Sales edged up 2.21% from September's 11,484 units, maintaining steady performance in the segment. With its facelift now launched, expect a sharp rise in sales in November.
Maruti Brezza - 12,072 units

The Brezza still stands strong with its smooth engine, strong mileage and Maruti’s vast service network for hassle-free ownership. Sales rose by 18.66% over 10,173 units last month, reinforcing its mass-market appeal. Launched in 2022, the Brezza is expected to receive a facelift in 2026.
Mahindra XUV 3XO - 12,237 units

The Mahindra XUV 3XO packs punchy performance with all three of its engines and Level-2 ADAS enhancing its safety suite. Despite a polarising design, it appeals to both city and frequent highway commuters. Sales jumped 35.48% from 9,032 units in September.
Kia Sonet - 12,745 units

The Kia Sonet dazzles with sporty flair, powertrain variety and premium features, appealing to both young and family buyers. Sales soared 41.29% from 9,020 units last month, ending up as the runner-up on this list.
Tata Nexon - 22,083 units

Finally, it's the Tata Nexon that leads this segment yet again. Its exterior styling, strong safety credentials, ride quality, and versatile powertrain options (Turbo Petrol, Diesel, Electric) make it the segment favourite. Its sales slipped 2.17% from 22,573 units in September but grew 5.03% in market share year-over-year.
