1. Exterior
The Tata Harrier EV maintains the bold, muscular stance of its ICE counterpart, enhanced by EV-specific styling elements a closed-off grille with aerodynamic inserts, 19-inch aero-optimized alloy wheels, and discrete “EV” badging on the doors and tailgate.
Dimensionally, it measures 4,621 mm in length, 1,994 mm in width, and 1,791 mm in height, riding on a 2,741 mm wheelbase—making it substantially larger than the XEV 9e and delivering a more commanding road presence.
By contrast, the Mahindra XEV 9e is built on a C-segment electric platform and measures 4,789 mm long, 1,907 mm wide, and 1,694 mm tall, with a 2,775 mm wheelbase. Its EV-biased design includes a sealed front façade with pixel-inspired accents (housing the charging inlet), active air flaps for improved cooling, and 19-inch tyres (245/55 R19) that strike a balance between road grip and aerodynamic efficiency.
While the Harrier EV emphasizes a premium SUV silhouette, the XEV 9e leans into a more streamlined, futuristic profile—both optimized for airflow but catering to slightly different buyer preferences.

4. Powertrain & Battery
The Harrier EV rides on Tata’s enhanced Acti.ev platform, offering two battery options: a 65 kWh pack powering a single rear motor (238 hp/238 Nm) for the base RWD model, and a 75 kWh LFP pack with dual motors (one per axle) producing 396 hp and 504 Nm (AWD). The 75 kWh RWD version claims a MIDC range of 627 km, while Tata’s internal C75 cycle estimates a real-world range of 480–505 km.
Charging times are 10.7 hours (10–100 percent) on 7.2 kW AC and 25 minutes (20–80 percent) on 120 kW DC. In comparison, the XEV 9e offers two LFP battery options: a 59 kWh pack with a 170 kW (228 bhp)/380 Nm rear motor delivering an ARAI-certified 542 km range, and a 79 kWh pack with a 210 kW (282 bhp)/380 Nm motor claiming 656 km ARAI range and a 0–100 km/h time of 6.8 seconds.
The XEV 9e uses a single-speed gearbox driving the rear wheels. Charging times for both variants are 8 hours (11 kW AC) or 11.7 hours (7.2 kW AC) 0–100 percent, and 20 minutes (20–80 percent) on a 175–180 kW DC fast charger. Both SUVs feature regenerative braking with multiple levels, but the XEV 9e adds an “intelligent semi-active suspension” that adjusts damping electronically for comfort and handling.
