Suzuki has introduced the Jimny 55th Anniversary Edition in France, marking the end of the road for the beloved off-roader in the European market. With just 55 units on offer, this version is a tribute to the Jimny’s long-standing legacy. It is priced at €28,955 (around Rs 28.75 lakh) and will be delivered by the end of this month.
Retro Design Details
This edition gets a classic touch with vintage side stripes, red splash guards, and a Rhino badge on the spare tyre cover. A unique honeycomb grille with the full Suzuki logo replaces the usual "S" badge. It rides on black steel wheels and comes in four colours: Jungle Green, Medium Grey, White, and Bluish Black.
Same Engine and 4WD
Under the hood, there are no mechanical changes. The Jimny continues to be powered by a 1.5-litre four-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol engine producing 101 bhp and 130 Nm of torque. It’s paired with a 5-speed manual gearbox and Suzuki’s AllGrip Pro 4WD system with a low-range transfer case. Weighing only 1,090 kg, this compact SUV remains as capable as ever on rough terrains.
Interiors
Inside, the cabin remains simple yet practical. It features durable rubber mats, a commemorative badge on the centre console, and some exclusive extras like a leather-bound travel journal and a custom key fob, specific to this edition. Built on the Privilege trim, it comes equipped with air conditioning, heated seats, Bluetooth, and a USB port. However, advanced tech such as a touchscreen or LED lighting is absent.
Safety
Despite its retro nature, the Jimny 55th Anniversary Edition doesn’t skip safety. Features like lane departure warning, emergency braking, automatic high beams, TPMS, and hill-start assist are all included.
Deliveries in France are expected to begin by the end of June 2025.
