Skoda is all set to launch the Kushaq facelift soon, with fresh looks and extra features to the popular compact SUV. First launched in 2021, the Kushaq has done well in India, and this update is expected to help it stay competitive.
Design and Exterior Changes
The facelift will retain the overall silhouette but will see tweaks to key areas for a sharper appearance.
At the front, expect a new grille design, updated bumpers, and slimmer headlights inspired by newer Skoda models, like the Kylaq. The rear could feature connected taillights, a revised tailgate, and fresh bumper styling. New alloy wheel designs could add to the sporty vibe.
These updates could make the Kushaq look more current without big overhauls.
Interior and Features

The Kushaq’s cabin might stay familiar, but could see new colours for the upholstery and added features for convenience.
A larger touchscreen for infotainment is expected, along with updated graphics for the instrument cluster. Comfort options like ventilated front seats and a stronger air conditioning system could be introduced, especially given the past complaints about its ineffective AC on hot days. Spy shots seen so far have also revealed a panoramic sunroof.
Physical buttons might replace some touch controls for easier operation.
Standard safety is expected to remain unchanged, with six airbags, ABS with EBD, ISOFIX mounts, ESP, and TPMS. Top-end variants could get Level 2 ADAS tech and a 360-degree camera system.
Powertrain Options
The engines are expected to carry over without major shifts. The 1.0-litre TSI turbo petrol produces around 115 BHP and 178 Nm of torque, while the 1.5-litre makes nearly 150 BHP and 250 Nm.
Transmission choices could include a six-speed manual, a six-speed torque converter automatic (1.0L), and a seven-speed DCT (1.5L). The smaller 1.0L turbo may be paired to a new, Aisin-sourced eight-speed automatic for better efficiency. This eight-speed auto is expected to make its way into other Skoda and Volkswagen cars as well.
Launch and Pricing Details

Skoda could unveil the facelifted Kushaq before the end of January, with sales starting soon after.
Prices might start from around ₹11 lakh and go up to ₹20 lakh for the top-spec variants, a bit higher than the current model due to likely additions like the panoramic sunroof and ADAS.
With these updates, the Kushaq could better challenge its compact SUV rivals like the segment-leading Hyundai Creta and the new Kia Seltos. It should continue to appeal to buyers seeking a fun-to-drive, safe and feature-packed car.
