Skoda has unveiled the Kodiaq RS in India, marking its first fully performance-oriented SUV in the country. This model builds on the standard Kodiaq with sporty enhancements and stronger performance, all while keeping the seven-seat layout for family use. A launch is expected by June 2026, with limited units available.
Compared to the regular Kodiaq, the RS version sports a bolder look. The front gets a new bumper with larger air intakes and a black grille instead of chrome. Black accents cover the C-pillar, roof rails, mirror caps, and window frames for a sleek appearance. It rides on 20-inch alloy wheels, with red brake callipers adding to the sporty vibe. At the back, the bumper gets minor updates, including twin exhaust tips.
Inside, the cabin uses an all-black theme with red stitching and RS badges on the thicker bolstered seats, which are more supportive for spirited driving. It shares many features with the top-end Kodiaq, such as a 13-inch touchscreen infotainment system and a digital instrument panel. Added touches include rotary dials for climate and audio controls, plus sporty pedals and a leather steering wheel.

The Kodiaq RS uses the same 2.0-litre turbo petrol engine that makes 265 hp and 400 Nm of torque, which powers the Octavia RS. This is a significant upgrade from the standard Kodiaq's 201 hp and 320 Nm output. It is mated to a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox and all-wheel drive for better grip. This setup allows it to reach 100 km/h from standstill in 6.3 seconds and hit a top speed of 231 km/h.
Other mechanical upgrades include slotted brake discs and adaptive suspension.

Safety features will be carried over from the Kodiaq, with 9 airbags, ESP, ABS with EBD, Hill Start/Descent Assist, ISOFIX seat mounts, and Multi-Collision Brake, plus advanced tech like Driver Drowsiness Detection and Intelligent Park Assist. While the standard Kodiaq misses out on it, we expect the Kodiaq RS to feature a Level 2 ADAS suite.

The Skoda Kodiaq RS could be priced from ₹50 lakh to ₹60 lakh (ex-showroom), positioning it against rivals like the upcoming Volkswagen Tayron R-Line. As a CBU imported model, its availability will be limited. However, the new Free Trade Agreement signed between India and the European Union will surely have an effect on the Kodiaq RS's pricing, potentially making it more affordable than anticipated.
