Land Rover has launched the 2026 Range Rover Sport Autobiography in India, which is now locally assembled, with prices starting at ₹1.6 crore (ex-showroom), with bookings now open. Previously, the Autobiography variant was only available as a CBU import, however this new launch will be assembled in India to make the lineup more accessible for buyers.
It gets a 3.0-litre inline-six petrol and diesel engine options, while the more powerful 4.4-litre V8 petrol variant continues to be an imported model.

Range Rover Sport Autobiography Powertrain & Performance

The 3.0-litre inline-six petrol variant of the locally assembled Autobiography pairs with an 8-speed automatic transmission and AWD setup, delivering an output of 400 hp and 550 Nm of torque, and achieving 0-100 kmph in just 5.5 seconds. Meanwhile the diesel variant generates 351 hp and 700 Nm, while achieving similar sprint in 5.8 seconds.
What's worth noting is that these power figures are not only slightly lower than the lower Dynamic HSE variant, the imported Autobiography variant still offers much higher figures, delivering 530 hp, 750 Nm, and 0-100 kmph in just 4.5s.
Meaning the new locally assembled variant does not get a performance jump, rather it brings major luxury and equipment upgrades to the lineup, along with more engine choices.
In fact, even with the more powerful engine on the imported model, the locally assembled variant comes better equipped with features.

The new Autobiography variant rides on 22-inch forged alloy wheels that are painted in Satin Black with gloss black accents, which also gives a good view of the new red brake calipers. An exclusive Autobiography badge gives the car a distinct look in the Sport lineup.
Four mono tone colours are available, where Santorini Black and Carpathian Grey carry over, while two new shades get added - Borasco Grey and Ostuni Pearl White.
Inside, Land Rover has improved the luxury styling of the cabin with a fully extended leather upgrade, leather seatbacks, premium carpet mats, and illuminated metal treadplates, that also gets the Autobiography branding. Meanwhile, semi-aniline leather, massage seats, and a Meridian Signature Sound System round out the cabin comfort.
Tech-wise, the car features all-wheel steering, an electronic active differential with torque vectoring, adaptive air suspension, and configurable terrain response modes.
