Nissan Gravite Compact MPV To Launch on February 17

Nissan India is all set to launch its new compact MPV, the Gravite, on February 17. This MPV enters the sub-four-meter segment as a three-row, seven-seater car. The Gravite is a badge-engineered Renault Triber, underpinned by the same CMF-A+ platform. However, it will feature its own unique styling to fit Nissan's design language. 

From the teasers dropped by Nissan so far, it is clear that this MPV sports an identical shape to the Triber. The front stands out with a large grille, sharp wraparound LED headlights and DRLs, fog lamps, and a shaped bonnet for a bold look. At the back, it gets clear taillights connected by a chrome strip, and silver accents on the bumper. 

The Gravite is expected to be powered by a 1.0-litre three-cylinder petrol engine making about 70 bhp and 96 Nm of torque. Transmission options will include a five-speed manual or AMT for easy city drives.

Though yet to be revealed, the interior is expected to feature a layout similar to the Triber. Features could be borrowed as well, including a large touchscreen with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity, automatic climate control, steering-mounted controls, cruise control, and a wireless charger. The rear seats could get sliding and reclining functions, with rear AC vents. The third row will be removable to free up more boot space.

Safety suite could be strong, with six airbags, along with ABS, EBD, ESP, Hill-Start Assist, and Traction Control standard across the range. Rear parking sensors will help in tricky situations, while ISOFIX seat mounts and three-point belts for all passengers round out the package.

Note that Nissan has now launched the Gravite, with introductory prices starting at ₹5.65 lakh, ex-showroom.
