The next-generation Toyota Hilux was spotted testing completely undisguised in Delhi's Aerocity area, strongly suggesting a launch in India very soon.
This will be the most significant update to the Hilux in India since its introduction.
The ninth-generation model, globally unveiled in late 2025, brings a fresh design, modern cabin, and improved features while keeping its tough body-on-frame construction.

The new Hilux features a bolder and more upright stance with a wide mesh grille, slim LED headlights connected by a central Toyota lettering panel, and updated bumpers.
It retains the practical Double Cab layout with easier cargo bed access through revised side steps and a rear deck step.

Inside, the cabin has been completely refreshed with premium materials inspired by the Land Cruiser. It gets a large 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a matching 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, wireless charging, multiple USB ports, and connected car technology.
Safety features are expected to include ADAS tech like autonomous emergency braking and adaptive cruise control.
For the Indian market, the Hilux is likely to come with the proven 2.8-litre turbo-diesel engine paired with a 48V mild-hybrid system, delivering 201 bhp and 500 Nm of torque, mated to a six-speed automatic transmission.

It promises better efficiency and refinement while maintaining strong off-road capability with 4WD, Multi-Terrain Select, and electronic locking differentials.
The next-gen Hilux is expected to be priced between Rs 30 lakh and Rs 38 lakh (ex-showroom).
The pickup truck was launched in Japan on May 28. We expect Toyota to introduce it in India by July or August 2026.
