MG Motor India has launched the refreshed Hector with slight deign touches mostly and a really good price tag of just 11.99 lakhs (limited units), that's 2 lakhs less than before! It will rival the likes of Tata Sierra (still 50k cheaper), Hyundai Creta, Grand Vitara and the upcoming Mahindra 7XO.
Design Updates and New Colours
The refreshed Hector adopts MG’s updated Aura design language, bringing visible changes without altering the SUV’s core shape. It gets a new Aura Hex grille, revised Aura front and rear bumpers, and Aura sculpted alloy wheels and that's about it
MG has also introduced two new exterior colours, Celadon Blue and Pearl White, adding freshness to the lineup.
Interior

Inside, the Hector refresh sees meaningful changes. The dashboard now follows a layered layout, paired with a dual-tone Ice Grey interior. Higher variants and Plus trims offer a tan interior theme. Comfort is improved with ventilated front seats, improved material contrast, and a more contemporary cabin feel.
Segment First Swipe Gesture Controls

One of the standout additions is the segment-first swipe gesture controls. Users can control cabin temperature, fan speed, and music volume using swipe gestures, reducing dependence on physical buttons. This system works alongside MG’s updated infotainment setup, backed by 10GB RAM for smoother and faster operation.
The Hector refresh brings in several convenience-focused upgrades, including a wireless phone charger, Harman audio system, digital Bluetooth key, and proximity auto lock and unlock. Other highlights include a 360-degree camera with wheel view, automatic tailgate, rear camera, and a voice-controlled panoramic sunroof.
Engine and Powertrain
Mechanically, the Hector refresh remains unchanged. It continues with the 1.5 litre turbo petrol engine producing around 143 bhp and 250 Nm of torque. The engine is paired with either a 6 speed manual gearbox or a CVT automatic transmission and is E20 fuel compliant. A manual only diesel is also on offer with 170 hp and 350 nm.
ARAI claimed fuel efficiency is in the 13 to 14 kmpl range for the manual, with the CVT rated slightly lower. MG has retained this setup, indicating confidence in its balance of performance and everyday drivability.
Safety and Driver Assistance
Safety remains a strong focus for the refreshed Hector. It is equipped with Level 2 ADAS, six airbags, a PM2.5 air filtration system, and comprehensive 360-degree camera coverage.
Warranty and Ownership Package
MG is offering its MG Shield ownership package with the refreshed Hector. This includes a 3-year/unlimited kilometre warranty, 3-year roadside assistance, and 3 labour-free services, adding long-term peace of mind for owners.
