BMW has introduced the updated X5 for the 2025 model year in India with more standard features, a sportier M Sport Pro variant in place of the earlier M Sport, and a uniform price hike of ₹2.5 lakh across the range. The SUV now starts just above ₹1 crore and goes up to ₹1.15 crore depending on the engine and trim.
The new M Sport Pro variant brings a sharper design identity. It features blacked-out details on the illuminated kidney grille, roof rails and exhaust tips, along with the full M Sport aerodynamic kit. The look is further enhanced by larger 21-inch alloy wheels, red brake calipers and an M Sport differential. Inside, the cabin is upgraded with ventilated front seats, a head-up display and fresh upholstery themes, including a Tartufo and black dual-tone or a white and black option.
BMW has also expanded standard equipment across the X5 line-up. Air suspension is now included on all versions, improving ride comfort, while the xOffroad package has also become standard. This package adds selectable drive modes for sand, gravel, rocks and snow, controlled via a switch on the centre console.
The powertrain options remain unchanged. The xDrive40i petrol continues with its 3.0-litre six-cylinder turbo engine producing 381 hp and 520 Nm of torque. The xDrive30d diesel retains its 3.0-litre straight-six that develops 286 hp and 650 Nm. Both engines are paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission and BMW’s xDrive all-wheel-drive system, while a 48V mild-hybrid unit provides additional performance support.
With these updates, BMW has got a slight bit of an edge over its rivals like Audi and Mercedes
