MG Reveals The Power Figures Of The Upcoming Cyberster Convertible, And It’s Impressive!

The MG Cyberster is going to be MG’s first electric sports car to be launched in India. Reported to debut in the upcoming 2025 Bharat Mobility Expo (formerly Auto Expo), the Cyberster will go on sale in the month of January itself.
However, MG has just revealed the powertrain specs of the India-bound Cyberster models.
As per reports, the India-spec MG Cyberster Convertible will be powered by a dual-motor AWD setup that is capable of producing a massive 503 HP and 725 NM of torque! There is another single-motor option that is sold in international markets, but MG isn’t bringing that to India.

The electric motors get their juice from a 77 kWh battery pack, which claims to offer a WLTP range of 444 kilometres in combined usage. However, from my personal experience, this will come down to somewhere around 370 kilometres of range in real-life conditions (given you drive sanely). But even that is quite impressive for a purpose-built sports car!
Apart from that, the MG Cyberster is supercar-level fast, accelerating from 0-100 km/h in just 3.2 seconds!

The MG Cyberster has a 50:50 weight distribution between the front and rear portions. Moreover, the Cyberster’s chassis has been tuned by former Ferrari F1 engineer Marco Fainello! Fainello has worked with Ferrari F1 when Michael Schumacher was winning championships for the Tifosi.
He has also led the development of the Goat-ed Ferrari FXX-K hypercar!

So yes, all of this makes the MG Cyberster quite a special car to have in your garage. MG will bring the Cyberster to India via the CBU route, which means it will be fully imported, and the prices are expected to stay somewhere in the Rs 70 Lakhs to 80 Lakhs range (Ex-Showroom).

Obviously, the CBU route is going to eat up a lot of tax money, but that’s just how it works for every other sportscar in India, as they cannot be manufactured inside India or assembled here.

Now that we know how fast the MG Sportscar is going to be, what are your thoughts on the 2025 Cyberster? Will it be able to make a mark in the sportscar scene in India? Or will people still go for the BMW Z4 or the M340i?
