The MG Majestor is set to become the new flagship model in MG Motor India's SUV lineup. This full-size vehicle promises a mix of bold style, advanced technology, and strong performance. It builds on the success of models like the Gloster but aims to offer a more premium experience.
By introducing the Majestor, MG targets buyers seeking a spacious and capable SUV for both urban drives and off-road adventures.
Design and Exterior

The Majestor stands out with its muscular build and commanding presence on the road. At the front, it has a large octagonal grille paired with slim LED daytime running lights and stacked headlamp units.
The bumper gets skid plates for a rugged appearance, while the sides feature flared wheel arches, thick cladding, and 20-inch alloy wheels. The roof rails and side steps add to its practical yet stylish look.
At the rear, connected LED taillights and a wide tailgate give it a premium and wide stance. Overall, it measures about 5 metres long with a wheelbase of nearly 3 metres, making it larger than many rivals.
Interior and Features

Inside, the Majestor offers a modern cabin with space for seven people across three rows.
The dashboard features two 12.3-inch screens: one for the digital instrument cluster and another for the touchscreen infotainment system.
Comfort and convenience are ensured with ventilated front seats, a panoramic sunroof, wireless charging, and an electric tailgate.

Powertrain and Performance

Under the hood, the Majestor uses a 2.0-litre diesel engine available in two setups. The single-turbo version produces around 160 BHP and 374 Nm of torque, while the twin-turbo option boosts that to about 210 BHP and nearly 500 Nm.
Both engines are paired to an eight-speed automatic transmission and come in rear-wheel drive or optional four-wheel drive. This setup shares roots with the Gloster but is tuned for better off-road performance. It sits on a ladder-frame chassis for durability in rough conditions.
Safety

Safety will be a priority with standard six airbags, electronic stability control, traction control, hill assist features, tyre pressure monitoring, and ISOFIX mounts.
Higher variants would add Level 2 advanced driver assistance systems, such as lane departure warning, automatic emergency braking, blind spot detection, and adaptive cruise control. A 360-degree camera helps with parking and off-road manoeuvres.
It is worth noting that the Maxus D90, essentially an International-Spec Majestor with a different name, boasts a 5 Star Australian NCAP Rating.
Pricing and Launch Details

MG plans to unveil the Majestor in India on February 12, 2026, with a full launch expected around the same time. Prices are likely to start from ₹40 lakh and go up to ₹50 lakh rupees, positioning it even above the Gloster as the brand’s flagship SUV.
The Majestor will challenge established SUVs like the Toyota Fortuner, Skoda Kodiaq, Jeep Meridian, and the upcoming Volkswagen Tayron. It aims to stand out with its blend of size, technology, and off-road ability, appealing to those seeking a step up from mid-size SUVs.
