Maruti Suzuki has finally launched the e Vitara at an introductory price of ₹10.99 lakh ex-showroom, under the Battery as a Service model.
This only includes the price of the car, as Maruti is currently only offering the e Vitara under the ‘Battery as a Service’ model. This means that the battery will come on a rental basis at an additional ₹3.99 per kilometre driven.
With this approach, Maruti aims to help keep the upfront cost low for buyers.
The e Vitara is offered in Delta, Zeta, and Alpha variants. The base Delta trim comes with a 49 kWh battery pack, while the Zeta and Alpha variants get the larger 61 kWh pack.
Both batteries use a single front-mounted electric motor, only powering the front wheels.

The 49 kWh battery produces 144 hp and delivers an ARAI-certified range of 440 km, while the 61 kWh unit makes 174 hp and offers a class-leading ARAI range of 543 km. Torque is an identical 190 Nm for both packs.
The e Vitara can charge from 10 to 80% in about 45 minutes using a 70 kW DC fast charger. A 7.4kW home charger will do the same (10-80%) in about 6.5 hours for the 49kWh battery pack and 9 hours for the 61kWh unit, as claimed by Maruti.

Built on Maruti’s new HEARTECT-e platform, the e Vitara measures 4,275 mm in length, 1,800 mm in width, and has a long 2,700 mm wheelbase.
The exterior features bold wheel cladding, matrix LED headlamps, connected LED tail-lamps, and aero-optimised 18-inch alloy wheels.

The interior feels modern and comfortable for five passengers. It features a dual-tone dashboard, a 10.25-inch digital driver display, a 10.1-inch touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, ventilated front seats, a fixed glass roof, ambient lighting, and a premium sound system.
The rear seats slide and recline for extra comfort on long trips.
Safety equipment includes seven airbags, a 360-degree camera, tyre-pressure monitoring, ESP, and a full Level 2 ADAS suite with over 15 features such as adaptive cruise control and lane-keep assist. The e Vitara has already earned a five-star rating in Bharat NCAP crash tests.
Buyers receive a complimentary 7.4 kW home charger with free installation, plus one year of free charging at Maruti dealerships through the ‘e for me’ app.

The battery packs come with an 8-year/1.6 lakh km warranty, in addition to the standard 3-year warranty on the car itself.
Maruti also offers an assured buyback plan offering 60% of the value after 3 years/45,000 kilometres, or 50% after 4 years and 60,000 kilometres.

Bookings have opened at ₹21,000, and can be made online through the Nexa website or at showrooms. Deliveries have already begun, and introductory prices and offers remain valid until March 31.
Maruti is yet to reveal the prices of the 61 kWh Zeta and Alpha variants.
The e Vitara will challenge other EVs, including its badge-engineered Toyota sibling - the Urban Cruiser Ebella, Hyundai Creta Electric, Tata Curvv EV, MG ZS EV, Mahindra BE 6, and VinFast VF 6.
