Maruti Suzuki Brezza Facelift Details Leaked Ahead of Launch

Maruti Suzuki is all set to launch the Brezza facelift on July 23, with bookings having opened recently.

Based on the leaked information, the updated Brezza will bring design tweaks, enhanced interior features, a new turbo petrol engine option, and an underbody CNG setup.

Maruti Brezza Facelift Exterior Design 

Changes to the Brezza's exterior will be subtle, with a revised grille and bumpers, along with new dual-tone alloy wheels and dual tone plastic cladding for a more rugged look.

Additionally, Maruti will also offer three ACE packages, named Terrascape, Metroscape, and Turbo. These could likely be dealership-installed interior and exterior enhancements.

Fresh colour options - Vivacious Orange and Luster Beige, could be offered.

Maruti Brezza Facelift Interior and Safety Features 

Inside, the cabin gains premium touches with leatherette upholstery. The overall dashboard design and layout is likely to remain unchanged.

Key feature additions include ventilated front seats, a larger 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system seen on the Victoris, ambient lighting with 64 colours, and an air purifier. The connected car tech via Suzuki Connect continues from the outgoing model.

Standard safety features will include 6 airbags, ABS with EBD, ESP, hill hold, three-point seatbelts for all passengers, and rear parking sensors. Higher variants will get ADAS, with blind-spot warning, rear cross-traffic alert, and safe exit warning.

Finally Gets Turbo Petrol Power

The biggest change for the new Brezza comes under the hood, as it will finally get turbo petrol power. Its 1.0-litre engine will produce 108 BHP @ 5,500 rpm and 170 Nm @ 2,000-3,500 rpm, and will be paired with a 6-speed manual gearbox.

The sixth gear should help with relaxed highway cruising and as a result, better efficiency as well.

Fortunately, Maruti seems to have tuned the Boosterjet for more performance, as the figures are higher than the Fronx's turbo petrol, and much closer to its segment rivals like the Tata Nexon.

The current 1.5-litre petrol engine delivering 102 BHP and 139 Nm will continue to be on offer, mated to a 5-speed manual or 6-speed automatic transmission. It remains to be seen whether Maruti offers a 6-speed manual with this engine, as a sixth gear is sorely missed on highways and especially expressways.

An S-CNG variant will feature an underbody tank setup which was introduced with the Victoris, and will use this engine with a manual gearbox.

With the introduction of the new 1.0-litre engine, the Brezza will finally be able to enjoy the lower GST benefits of its rivals, and it will be interesting to see how Maruti price it alongside the 1.5-litre variants.
