- What's New Compared to the Old Syros
Kia India has launched the all-refreshed Syros at ₹8.39 Lakhs (ex-showroom), improving the overall experience, which Kia claims is driven by customer feedback. However, one can see that this is not just customer driven, as the segment is still highly competitive, pushing brands to keep their cars relevant with new styling, features, and mechanicals.
The new Syros brings four new trims, with updates across its design and feature lineup, and now offers wider availability of automatic options.
This is quite meaningful as the missing diesel automatic was a major gap in the old Syros, providing more choice to buyers with this update, while bringing over the same premiumness but at new price points across the new trims.
With this, Kia competes with the all new Taigun and Kushaq, competition across new design, features, and safety.
Here’s the new Syros lineup, broken down by powertrain and trim. All prices are ex-showroom and in INR.
| Powertrain/Trim | HTE | HTE(O) | HTK(EX) | HTK+ | HTK+(O) | HTX | HTX(O) |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| G1.0 MT | 839,900 | 919,900 | 979,900 | 1,073,900 | 1,199,900 | - | - |
| G1.0 7DCT | - | - | - | 1,193,900 | 1,319,900 | 1,399,900 | 1,499,900 |
| D1.5 6MT | - | 999,900 | 1,059,900 | 1,153,900 | 1,279,900 | - | - |

What's New Compared to the Old Syros

On the outside, Kia has done what many brands usually do with facelifts. They have added new bumpers on the front and the rear, aiming for a sporty and rugged look, while providing the roof glossy black rails and aero inserts that are body-coloured for smooth flow in look.
The HTX trims get 17-inch crystal-cut alloys with neon brake calipers, which is particularly exciting to me, but may either delight or turn off buyers, depending on their tolerance for flashy looks.
Colour wise, three new colours are offered - the Magma Red and two shades of Ivory Silver - matte and gloss.
Inside, Kia has kept the utmost premiumness, modernity and comfort as the old Syros. The dashboard gets a massive 30-inch Trinity Panoramic Display panel that integrates connected car navigation cockpit, for personalised content and the ease of driving.
Here, I prefer more physical controls over touch for the infotainment, as touchscreens have their own shortcomings.

Despite what most might think, the refresh does not compromise on the dual-pane sunroof, keeping it competitive with other facelifts in the segment
The door's handles are also streamlined.
Seating wise, both the front and rear seats are ventilated, meant for keeping passengers feel fresh and comfortable, even at long distance driving. The second row seat also recline and slide with 60:40 split, providing generous space for the occupants, as should be expected from a car in this segment.
On the safety side, Kia has earned a 5-star from the BNCAP, which alone would be decisive for many buyers.
While the new 2026 update for the Syros does not do anything major, their value proposition lies with the new automatic for its continuing diesel engine, lowering the barrier for entry for many buyers, while also maintaining competitiveness with rivals such as the Creta and Venue, and offerings by Mahindra and Maruti Suzuki.
