Hyundai Motor India has started the new financial year on a strong note, reporting its highest-ever domestic sales for April 2026.
The company sold 51,902 units in the domestic market last month, a significant 17% increase compared to the same month last year. Combined with export volumes of 13,708 units, the automaker's total sales for the month reached 65,610 units.
Mr. Tarun Garg, Managing Director and CEO of Hyundai Motor India, said,
“We have opened the new financial year on a strong note, carrying forward the momentum built in recent months into April 2026. With monthly domestic sales of 51,902 units, Hyundai Motor India has achieved its highest-ever April domestic sales, registering a robust 17 per cent year-on-year growth”.

A major highlight of the month was the strong performance of the Hyundai Venue. The compact SUV, along with its N Line variant, recorded its best-ever monthly domestic sales of 12,420 units.
This surge is largely attributed to the model's recent 5-star safety rating from Bharat NCAP, which has significantly boosted buyer confidence.
The company also saw positive market reception for recently updated models like the new Exter and Verna. Special editions, including the Creta Summer Edition, Venue Knight Edition, and the Grand i10 Nios Vibe Edition, also helped.
Hyundai India currently offers 13 models in India, out of which two are EVs.
In terms of its upcoming models, the Inster EV-based electric micro SUV is a much-awaited one, and is set to be a Tata Punch EV rival.
