Honda City Sport Edition Launched at Rs 14.88 Lakhs

After dropping a teaser hinting at a sporty limited edition for one of their cars, Honda has launched the City Sport in India, on Jun 20th. At an introductory price of Rs 14.88 lakhs (ex-showroom, Delhi), the City Sport is a limited edition and reportedly based on the sedan’s V variant and sits between the V and VX variants.

Exterior Changes

The City Sport features blacked out treatment on the grille, tailgate spoiler, alloy wheels, ORVMs, and shark fin antenna. It also gets a Sport badge to distinguish it from the standard City. The Honda City Sport is offered in Radiant Red Metallic, Platinum White Pearl, and Meteoroid Gray Metallic shades.

Interior Changes

An all-black interior interior with red accents on the dashboard, door inserts and steering wheel go a long way in lending a sporty appeal to the City’s cabin.

Engine and Gearbox

Under the hood, the City Sport is powered by the same naturally aspirated, 1.5 litre i-VTEC petrol engine producing 121bhp and 145Nm of torque. The City Sport is only available with a CVT gearbox.

Additional Features and Price

For the introductory period, the City Sport costs Rs 49,000 more than its standard counterpart, the V CVT variant. For the additional sum, it gets features such as a 7-colour ambient lighting system, and leatherette upholstery on the seats, gearknob and steering wheel. It mainly completes with Sportline eversions of Slavia and Virtus

However, the City Sport misses out on features such as a sunroof, 4 tweeters, lane watch camera, 7 inch digital instrument cluster, auto dimming IRVM, and auto wipers. Rear AC vents will be sorely given the all black interior and India’s scorching summers. 

The City Sport also retains features including ADAS, Wireless Android Auto and Apple Carplay connectivity, Auto headlamps, front fog lamps, keyless entry and go, and paddle shifters.
