Fronx Makes History with Over 5 Lakh Units Sold Under NEXA Umbrella

The lifted Baleno AKA Maruti Suzuki Fronx has crossed 5 lakh cumulative sales since its April 2023 launch, becoming the first SUV from Maruti's Nexa network to hit the milestone.
The numbers tell the story. FY2026 was its strongest year with 1,72,363 units, and the pace has only picked up since, with FY2027's first two months already showing 42 percent YoY growth. Notably, the last 1 lakh units were sold in just six months, suggesting demand is accelerating rather than plateauing likely due to its super affordable price tag of sub 7 lakhs and CNG options.
| Fiscal Year | Sales |
|---|---|
| 2024 | 1,34,735 |
| 2025 | 1,66,216 |
| 2026 | 1,72,363 |
| 2027 (Apr-May) | 39,515 |
| Total | 512,829 |
Much of the Fronx's appeal comes from its Nexa positioning, turbo-petrol powertrain options, and coupe-SUV styling at a price point that undercuts most rivals. Looking ahead, Maruti is reportedly working on a Fronx facelift which we spotted in Haryana with hybrid badges, which would likely arrive in the next 12-18 months to keep it competitive against the incoming Hyundai Bc4i and a refreshed Kia Sonet.
