Top 5 EV Makers With Most Charging Stations

Tata Motors dominates with the largest accessible public charging ecosystem for passenger EVs, while others like Maruti Suzuki are ramping up aggressively after E-Vitara launch

Tata Motors

Tata Motors leads overwhelmingly in India's EV charging landscape through TATA.ev, with over 26,000–28,000+ public charging stations accessible nationwide (per official charging locator and how-to-charge sections). 

This includes ultra-fast Mega Chargers (120 kW+ speeds, up to 25% discounts for Tata owners) at strategic city and highway spots, plus fast charging on 91% of national highways every 50 km. 

Partnerships with Tata Power, Zeon, Statiq, ChargeZone, and others ensure reliability, backed by .ev Verified Chargers (1,000+ consistent ones) and the iRA.ev app for live status, route planning, and seamless UPI payments. 

Future plans are ambitious, with a target to push India's total charge points beyond 400,000 by 2027 via Open Collaboration 2.0, adding 30,000+ new public points and expanding Mega Chargers. 

Best-selling EVs include the Nexon EV, Punch EV, Tiago.ev/Tigor.ev, and newer ones like Curvv.ev. Tata has also confirmed the Safari EV which will launch later this year

Maruti Suzuki

Maruti Suzuki, entering the EV space strongly with the e VITARA, has established over 2,000 exclusive charging points accessible via its vast sales and service network across 1,100+ cities 

This dealer-integrated setup, backed by 1,500+ EV-ready workshops and trained staff, focuses on hassle-free access. The company has partnered with 13 charge point operators (CPOs) and invested significantly to build this foundation.

Looking ahead, Maruti targets enabling a massive 1 lakh (100,000) charging points network by 2030 in collaboration with dealers and CPOs. 

Mahindra

Mahindra is pushing premium, high-power charging for its rugged EVs via the Charge_IN network, with plans to set up 1,000 charging points by end-2027

These include ultra-fast 180 kW stations on key highways for quick top-ups.

Their current portfolio has XUV 3XO EV, XEV 9S, XEV 9e and the upcoming compact BE EV

Hyundai

Hyundai continues expanding its dedicated network for premium EVs, with a public charging locator highlighting dealer, mall, and partner points

Focus is on fast charging for models like Creta Electric and Ioniq 5. 

MG Motor India

MG Motor India, through the MG Charge initiative, has installed 800+ chargers nationwide with targets toward 1,000+ via real estate and public partnerships. 

This supports best-sellers like ZS EV (proven compact SUV EV), Comet EV (city-focused micro EV), and Windsor EV, offering reliable fast charging (typically 50-100 kW DC) for urban and semi-urban use. MG plans steady growth to enhance convenience.
