Meanwhile, models such as the Toyota Hyryder, Hyundai Aura, and Volkswagen Virtus have posted significant month-on-month (MoM) growth, showing shifting buyer preferences across categories.
Compact SUV Segment
Hyundai sold 14,860 units of the Creta (ICE + EV + N Line) in May 2025, maintaining its position as the bestselling compact SUV. However, this was a drop of over 2,000 units compared to April 2025. Despite this, it remained the only model in the segment to cross the 10,000-unit mark.

The Kia Seltos maintained stable sales at just over 6,000 units, showing a negligible MoM decline. On the other hand, the Maruti Grand Vitara saw a sharp fall of 27.35 percent, dropping from over 7,000 units in April to 5,197 units in May.
Tata’s Curvv, which includes both ICE and EV variants, remained steady with 3,063 units sold. Honda Elevate grew by 56.25 percent, climbing one rank up in the sales chart. Meanwhile, models like the Volkswagen Taigun, Skoda Kushaq, and MG Astor saw declines.
The newly launched Citroen Basalt surprised with 43.93 percent growth, selling 95 units and surpassing the MG Astor and Citroen Aircross.
