- New Renault Duster Expected Price and Rivals
Renault India has left car lovers with a heartfelt teaser for the all-new Duster. The short video does not reveal the full SUV, but takes viewers back to the original model's glory days over a decade ago, when the first Duster actually started the compact SUV segment.
It offered tough diesel engines, smooth rides over rough roads, and prices that many could afford. The clip ends on a high note: "The SUV that started it all is here to do it again. New Renault Duster. The icon is back."
This exciting teaser sets the stage for the model's big return on January 26, 2026.
India-Specific Design Changes

The new Duster keeps the bold, rugged appeal that made its predecessor a hit. Spy shots and early glimpses reveal a rugged stance with wide wheel arches, a straight-up tailgate, and sharp lines all around.
What stands out are the design tweaks made just for India. The LED daytime running lights take on an eyebrow shape above the headlights, doubling as turn signals. This differs from the Y-shaped ones on the global-spec versions. The taillights connect with a slim bar in the middle, and a rear wiper joins the mix for better visibility in monsoons.
Even the fresh Renault logo from the Triber appears here, and will be the norm on all upcoming Renaults.

Comfort, Tech, and Safety

While the teaser did not reveal interior details, the global-spec suggests the Indian-spec model will be a lot more upscale than before.
The dashboard could feature a double or triple-screen layout for driver information and passenger entertainment, with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay likely. Other expected features include a wireless phone charger, a wide panoramic sunroof, and dual-zone air conditioning.
Safety suite could include six airbags as standard, ESP, hill-start assist, and TPMS. Higher trims may add a 360-degree parking camera with blind spot monitors and ADAS Level 2 features.
New Renault Duster Engine Options

The new Duster has ditched diesels and will only be available with petrol engines. A 1.3-litre turbo unit with 156 BHP could be paired with a manual gearbox for peppy performance. Lower variants may be powered by a smaller 1.0-litre turbo from the Kiger, likely tuned for additional power.
Both engines could be paired with a 6-speed manual gearbox. Though an automatic option is expected, the technology could differ depending on the engine. The smaller 1.0-litre turbo could be paired with a CVT, as seen on the Kiger.
A four-wheel drive option could make a comeback for adventure seekers.
A strong hybrid option may arrive in 2027. This 1.6-litre setup delivers 149 BHP and better fuel efficiency.
The Duster will be manufactured at the Renault-Nissan plant near Chennai, which will also manufacture the Nissan Tekton.

New Renault Duster Expected Price and Rivals

Likely to be priced between ₹11 lakh and ₹21 lakh, the Duster aims to rule the segment it once started, rivalling the Hyundai Creta, upcoming Kia Seltos, Maruti Grand Vitara, Toyota Hyryder, and the new Tata Sierra.
As the reveal date nears, it remains to be seen if the new Duster can recapture that old magic.
