The 2025 Honda Amaze 2nd Gen, while no longer available as a new model, remains a strong contender in the used compact sedan market in India. As Honda has introduced its 3rd generation Amaze, the 2nd Gen model offers a compelling value proposition for budget-conscious buyers seeking a reliable, spacious, and fuel-efficient family car. This review focuses on its attributes from a pre-owned perspective, highlighting key areas to inspect when considering a used unit.

Amaze 2nd Gen

The Honda Amaze blends practicality, efficiency, and strong safety credentials. Its 1.2-litre petrol engine produces 89 hp and 110 Nm, paired with a 5-speed manual or CVT, while delivering up to 19.46 kmpl (ARAI). The spacious cabin is backed by a generous 416-litre boot. The 3rd-generation model adds an Advanced Compatibility Engineering body, 6 airbags as standard, and Honda Sensing ADAS on higher variants. With clean LED styling and a comfortable ride, the Amaze focuses on dependable everyday usability for Indian families.

City

The Honda City was a popular sedan in India. This model came with 1.5-litre petrol and diesel engines. It offered a smooth driving experience with manual and automatic gearboxes. The car delivered a mileage of about 18.4 km/l. It was priced between 11.90 lakh and 15.62 lakh rupees. In 2022, a hybrid version was also launched to give better fuel efficiency. However, Honda stopped selling this version in 2023. The main reason was the new government rules for safety and emissions. These rules required cars to meet stricter crash norms and engine standards. Many people liked the Honda City for its large cabin and comfortable seats. Even though it is no longer sold as new, it remains a top choice in the used car market. Owners find it easy to maintain because spare parts are available across the country.

City 2020-2023

The Honda City has long been the segment-leading sedan in India, but how does it manage to stand tall against the Virtus & Slavia? Or does it?

City 2023-2026

The Honda City e:HEV pairs a 1.5-litre Atkinson-cycle petrol engine with two electric motors to produce 124 hp and 253 Nm. Its self-charging hybrid system and e-CVT enable EV driving at low speeds while delivering an ARAI-claimed 27.26 km/l efficiency. The sedan also comes with Honda Sensing ADAS as standard. Inside, it offers two-tone leather upholstery, an 8-inch touchscreen with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, and a digital driver display showing hybrid power flow, delivering daily usability for Indian roads.
