Bajaj Says Every Motorcycle Sold In The Last Decade Is E20 Fuel Compliant

As all Indian fuel stations transition to E20 petrol, many motorcycle owners are questioning the compatibility of their older bikes. Bajaj says that each motorcycle it has produced in the past decade is completely compatible with E20 fuel.
Responding to customer concerns, Sumeet Narang, President of Central Marketing at Bajaj Auto Ltd., stated,
“All motorcycles made by Bajaj Auto are fully compatible with E20 fuel usage, and this is true not only for recently made bikes but for motorcycles made by us for more than the last 10 years.”
He also said that this compatibility comes as a result of “rigorous work by our R&D”. Narang additionally specified that Bajaj's warranty conditions stay the same for motorcycles using E20 fuel.
He also added that the owners may find “a marginal drop in fuel efficiency”. Also, he mentioned that riding conditions, maintenance, and driving habits could significantly impact mileage.

What Does Brazil Have to Do With Bajaj's E20 Claim?
To prove the assertions, Narang also referenced Brazil, where gasoline has had notably higher concentrations of ethanol for many years.
“In fact, in a nation like Brazil, the fuel type is E27... we sell our bikes over there, which run perfectly well, and we have not received any kind of product complaints for this reason,” he added.
Bajaj entered the Brazilian motorcycle market in 2022, but since 1975, the country has been a global leader in ethanol-blended fuels, launching the Proálcool (National Alcohol Programme) to lessen its reliance on imported oil.
Currently, petrol in Brazil generally comprises about 27 percent ethanol (E27), owing to the nation's significant sugarcane output (the largest globally).

Should Indian Buyers Worry About E20 Fuel?
If you purchased a Bajaj-manufactured motorcycle over the past ten years, regardless of whether it's a Pulsar, Dominar, Avenger, KTM, or Triumph, it was all developed and engineered to operate on fuel mixed with ethanol.
