Tarun Mehta, the CEO of Ather Energy has confirmed that the EV two-wheeler maker has launched its new ‘Voice on Ather’ update in all Gen 3 and newer models.
This feature lets you interact with the Ather Scooter via natural language commands, working in a similar way to the Google Assistant and Apple's Siri.
The Voice Command feature was first announced on Ather Community day last year as a part of Ather Stack 7 update. This feature works in sync with the Ather Halo smart helmet and any Bluetooth headset as well.

How Does ‘Voice on Ather’ Work?
Key features like the navigation, calls and media, and vehicle settings can be controlled through voice commands and is powered by a Large Language Model (LLM) specifically designed and developed to understand Indian Accents and Dialects. This feature enables natural conversational voice commands rather than sticking to fixed keywords.
Riders can ask questions like “How far is the nearest charging station?” or “What’s the ETA to home?”. The vehicle settings can also be adjusted via voice which includes switching traction control modes and adjusting screen brightness level.

Other key features include pothole warnings, tyre pressure notifications, and ParkSafe alerts. These are available on the models like 450X, 450 Apex, Ritza and requires Gen 3 hardware or newer, and will be an over the air (OTA) software update in the mentioned models.
Besides the Ather halo helmet and Bluetooth headsets, this feature is also compatible with third party communication products like Cardo and Sena intercom systems.
