The Kia Sorento will become the brand's flagship SUV in India, with select dealerships already accepting unofficial bookings ahead of its expected launch by late August or early September.

Its design is expected to follow the global model, while inside, it is likely to offer 5-, 6-, and 7-seat layouts with usable space across all three rows, alongside dual 12.3-inch displays, a panoramic sunroof, ventilated front seats, a Bose sound system, wireless smartphone connectivity, and Level 2 ADAS.

It is expected to be powered by a 1.6-litre strong-hybrid turbo-petrol engine paired with a 6-speed automatic, with AWD also likely.

Rivals will include the Toyota Fortuner, Skoda Kodiaq, Volkswagen Tayron, and Jeep Meridian. Notably, unlike the ladder-frame Toyota Fortuner, the Sorento will use a monocoque platform.
