The next-generation Kia Sonet appears to be in development, and the latest test mule spotted in India suggests a far more extensive update than a routine facelift. Spy images indicate a redesigned front end with a Seltos-inspired grille, revised headlamps, new LED lighting signatures and fresh alloy wheels. 

Reports also point to a move to Kia’s K1 platform, shared with the Syros and Venue, which could improve cabin packaging and rear-seat space. Inside, the SUV is expected to get a new dashboard, larger 12.3-inch displays on higher trims and more connected features. Mechanically, Kia may continue with familiar petrol and diesel engines, while a hybrid powertrain could join the lineup later after launch in India, according to current reports.
