The e-C3X is powered by an electric motor fed by a 29.2 kWh lithium-ion battery pack. The motor produces 57 PS and 143 Nm of peak torque, delivered through a single-speed automatic transmission, branded by Citroen as the E-Toggle automatic gearbox, to the front wheels.

The battery is built on Stellantis's Smart Car Platform, the same architecture that underpins the petrol C3X and the Basalt.

Citroen claims a range of 320 km on a single charge under the standard MIDC testing cycle.

For charging, it supports both AC and DC fast charging. On a standard domestic 15A socket, the battery takes approximately 10.5 hours for a full charge (0-100%). Meanwhile, DC fast charging brings the battery from 10% to 80% in 57 minutes, as claimed by Citroen.

The onboard AC charger is rated at 3.3 kW; a wall box or faster AC charger will reduce AC charging time, but the onboard charger remains the limiting factor.

Lastly, there is no support for higher-power AC charging above 3.3 kW.

The e-C3X's cabin up front features a white-and-blue dual-tone dashboard, which is elevated by satin chrome accents on the AC vents, inner doors, and the leather-wrapped, multi-function steering wheel.

The driver area features an upgraded 7-inch digital instrument cluster displaying vital driving and battery data.

Centrally, a 10.25-inch touchscreen offers wireless Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and MyCitroen Connect 2.0, situated just above a wireless smartphone charger and manual air conditioning controls.

LAMA leatherette front seats with electric blue accents seamlessly tie the cabin theme together while offering generous headroom, complemented by optional add-ons like a 6-speaker JBL audio system and a dual-camera dashcam.

To the rear, the bench provides an impressive 1,378 mm of shoulder room, making it exceptionally wide for its class, and folds completely flat to easily expand the standard 315-litre boot.

Finally, addressing previous owner feedback, the top variant completes the package with a newly standardized rear-view camera, rear defroster, and rear wiper.

The e-C3X retains its predecessor's tall, crossover-like silhouette while defining its footprint at 3,981 mm long, 1,733 mm wide, and 1,604 mm high.

It now features a sharper front end, which introduces modern LED projector headlamps with a split DRL signature, a matte black grille, and bumper-mounted LED fog lights.

Below this, a contrast-painted skid plate provides a rugged aesthetic to complement the car's 170 mm ground clearance.

Along the side, the design is noticeably more cohesive thanks to body-colored door handles, color-matched pillar trim, and side sill panels. Glossy black roof rails and 15-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels fitted with 195/65 R15 tires complete the side view.

Finally, the rear mirrors the front's treatment with a matching contrast-painted skid plate and retains the familiar bumper profile, while integrating a highly requested, practical rear wiper into the tailgate.

The e-C3X features 6 airbags across the entire lineup. This directly addresses its predecessor's 0-star adult and 1-star child occupant ratings in the 2024 Global NCAP crash tests, which blamed a lack of supplemental airbags and Electronic Stability Control.

Alongside the expanded airbag suite, Citroen has integrated ISOFIX child seat anchorages and rear seatbelt reminders as standard.

The safety kit also includes ABS with EBD, reverse parking sensors, a rear-view camera, and speed-sensitive door locking. A dual-camera dashcam with predictive safety functionality remains an optional add-on.

Notably, the e-C3X itself has not yet undergone official safety testing by either Bharat NCAP or Global NCAP.

The e-C3X competes closely with the Tata Punch EV, the all new Tata Tiago in its segment.

The Punch EV is the e-C3X's most direct rival, boasting key advantages: two battery options, up to 468 km range, 190 mm ground clearance, a larger boot, ventilated seats, and a 5-star safety rating. However, the e-C3X counters with a 95 mm longer wheelbase yielding superior rear space, a striking dual-tone interior, and distinctive French styling.

Targeting first-time buyers, the Tiago EV offers a lower entry price, a proven hatchback format, and a competitive 315 km range. Conversely, the e-C3X justifies its premium through significantly larger dimensions. It features a longer wheelbase, distinctive crossover styling, 6 airbags, and a premium 10.25-inch touchscreen, appealing to buyers wanting SUV aesthetics over conventional hatchbacks.
