Passenger vehicle sales in November 2025 showed healthy momentum, closing at 29,10,945 units compared to 26,92,614 units in November 2024. This reflects year on year growth of 8.11 percent, marking a strong month for the industry as fresh launches and improved supply supported demand across most segments. 

Compact SUVs and value driven hatchbacks remained key contributors, keeping showrooms busy through the festive rollover.

Powertrain trends highlight a steady but noticeable shift in buyer preferences. Petrol and ethanol powered models continued to dominate with a 52.99 percent share, followed by CNG and LPG at 20.98 percent. Diesel stayed relevant at 17.66 percent, supported by sustained demand for larger SUVs and MPVs.

Hybrids accounted for 4.61 percent, while EVs climbed to 3.77 percent, reflecting growing acceptance as charging access improves in major cities.

Maruti Suzuki led comfortably with 1,55,321 units and a 39.41 percent share, driven by consistent demand for compact cars and family-focused models. 

Mahindra followed with 53,997 units and a 13.70 percent share, powered by strong traction for the Scorpio, XUV700, and Thar. Tata Motors posted 52,044 units and a 13.20 percent share, supported by the Nexon, Punch, Altroz, and a rapidly growing EV lineup.

Hyundai secured 49,567 units and a 12.58 percent share as the Creta, Venue, and i20 continued to deliver reliable performance. Toyota added 27,320 units with a 6.93 percent share, backed by popular models like the Innova Hycross and Hyryder that appeal to buyers seeking long term confidence.

With combined growth in volumes and a clear trend toward diverse powertrain options, November 2025 stands out as a month that reinforces the strength and evolving direction of India’s passenger vehicle market.
