The 2.4-litre GD diesel makes 148 bhp and 343 Nm. Torque delivery is strong at low revs, which suits the car's weight and its typical use long highway runs with a full load. ECO and Power drive modes are standard. ARAI-certified mileage is 15.6 kmpl. The 5-speed manual is the only gearbox option. 

The Crysta's rear-wheel-drive, body-on-frame setup gives it a meaningfully different character to the Innova HyCross. It handles rough roads and heavy loads more composedly, at the cost of refinement and fuel efficiency in city conditions.

The 2026 Crysta gets dual-tone leather seats, updated interior trim, copper bezels, and wood pattern highlights all new for this update. The cabin also now includes a wireless charger, which the Crysta has never had before. Other comfort features carried over include a foldable seatback table with cup holder, one-touch tumble for second-row access to the third row, an easy-slide front passenger seat, and an upper glove box with cooling. Ambient illumination features on higher trims.

Infotainment 

A touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay is standard, along with steering-mounted controls. The instrument cluster on VX and ZX gets a blue-illuminated 3D design with a TFT multi-information display. Push-button start and smart entry are available on VX and ZX. Toyota's connected features Walk to Car, Geo Fencing, and Real Time Vehicle Tracking are accessible via smartphone.

The 2026 update brings a bold new grille design along with revised front and rear bumpers. Five colours are on offer: Platinum White Pearl, Super White, Silver Metallic, Attitude Black Mica, and Avant-Garde Bronze Metallic.

7 airbags, ABS with EBD and Brake Assist, Vehicle Stability Control, and Hill Start Assist are all on board. Seat belt reminders cover second and third row passengers across all variants. Toyota's GOA body structure is designed to absorb and distribute crash energy. TPMS is new for 2026. A reversing camera is included, and front clearance sonar features on VX and ZX.

The Innova Crysta received a 5-star rating at ASEAN NCAP in 2020.

All variants are diesel manual. GX, GX+, and VX are available in 7 and 8-seat configurations. ZX is 7-seat only. A GX Fleet variant is also offered at the same price as GX, targeted at commercial buyers. 

The VX is the right pick for private buyers. Over the GX+, it adds 7 airbags, automatic climate control, cruise control, smart entry, push-button start, and front clearance sonar a ₹3.78 lakh gap that covers a lot of ground. The ZX adds an 8-way powered driver seat for ₹1.70 lakh more over the VX.
