MG Starlight 560 (Hector Hawk)

The MG-badged version of the Wuling Starlight 560 PHEV from SAIC-GM-Wuling is set to debut in India on July 16. Measuring 4,745mm in length with a 2,810mm wheelbase, the three-row SUV will feature a boxy, upright design for generous space. Globally, the Starlight 560 offers a choice of turbo-petrol, plug-in hybrid (PHEV), and all-electric powertrains. If all three are carried over, it could become one of the first mass-market SUVs in India to offer this full trio in a single lineup.

The Wuling Starlight 560 will debut in India on July 16, 2026, under a new MG nameplate, with a market launch anticipated around the Diwali festive season.

It is expected to be offered primarily as a plug-in hybrid (PHEV) and will potentially include fully electric powertrain options as well.

Outside, it will feature a boxy, two-tone body with split headlamps. The electric variant will get a smooth, closed-off front end, while the hybrid models will retain a traditional mesh grille.

On the inside, the minimalist cabin will be centered around a 12.8-inch touchscreen and an 8.8-inch digital driver’s display. For added flexibility, the front seats will be able to fold completely flat. It will also include a panoramic sunroof, ventilated front seats, and a wireless phone charger.

Safety-wise, standard equipment will include six airbags and a suite of advanced driver assistance systems.
