Hyundai Inster Overview

Hyundai is gearing up to introduce a new compact electric SUV to the Indian market, building on its proven global Inster platform.

The Inster-based compact EV rival will come in 2026, as per reputable sources. The global Inster comes with a maximum 42 kWh battery, V2L charging, and up to 370 km of range. In Europe, it costs around 24,000 euros, or almost ₹27 lakhs.

However, by doing heavy localisation work and getting rid of premium features like V2L, while installing a smaller 30–35 kWh battery, the India-specific Inster derivative could cost around ₹10–11 lakhs, directly taking the fight to the Punch EV.
